Deceivingly dainty
In bloom
She climbs
And loops
Around the trellis
Towards the light
Interlacing vines
Holding firmly and ever-so lightly
Making her way
Weaving upwards
Around the trellis
Towards the light
Rampant growth
Throwing shadows on the wall
She looks back
Without fear or shame
And with wonder
Feels the warmth from the light
Showy delicate flowers
Wafting sweet scent
Willing to be redirected
She holds on firmly and ever-so lightly
Trusting, increasingly free
Toward the warmth of the light
