The Shadow of the Cross.

LENT DAY 33

The Country of Liberia was in Civil War from 1980 – 2003. During that period, 500,000 children were orphaned. Yet the people’s spirit
and belief in the Spirit rose above the bloodshed.
Thousands of brass bullet shells were collected, and artists made crosses from the spent shells. Swords into plowshares.

The Shadow of the Cross

I stand in the shadow of the cross

Condemned no longer

My burden laid at the foot of the cross

Freed to live in love

The shadow cast is large enough for everyone

Step into the shadow
